As an Occupational Therapist within the Intensive Rehabilitation Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting people with complex mental health presentations to achieve greater independence, wellbeing, and quality of life. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based interventions that empower consumers to develop essential life skills, build confidence, and successfully transition into the community. This unique rehabilitation setting provides the opportunity to work alongside individuals over a longer-term period of 1 to 3 years, enabling the delivery of intensive, person-centred interventions that support meaningful recovery and help people lead fulfilling and purposeful lives.

The ideal candidate is a flexible and compassionate Occupational Therapist who is committed to supporting people with complex mental health needs on their recovery journey. You will have the ability to adapt assessments and interventions to meet the unique strengths, goals, and circumstances of each individual, while building therapeutic relationships over the longer term. You thrive in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, value working closely with consumers to achieve meaningful outcomes, and are passionate about delivering person-centred care. You will also be willing to participate in a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, to ensure continuity of support and rehabilitation services.
