As part of our organisational redesign, we're introducing new roles that support Darebin's future focus and priorities.
We are seeking a creative and solutions-focused registered Professional Engineer with extensive experience in the transport industry. In this role, you will provide expert technical advice that influences and shapes the future of the City of Darebin, while ensuring outcomes are aligned with industry best practice and Darebin's transport strategies.
About the role:
By applying creative thinking and technical problem-solving skills, you will contribute to the delivery of Darebin's transport strategies. Based within the Transport team, this role has a dedicated sustainability focus and plays an important part in promoting sustainable development, while ensuring the safe and accessible operation of the road network across Darebin.
You will:
- Proactively engage with the community and stakeholders to deliver the objectives of the Council Plan and annual budget.
- Collaborate with internal and external networks to support effective transport network management.
- Provide high-quality technical advice on transport-related matters.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with customers.
About you:
- An understanding of local transport standards and guidelines
- Ability to problem solve technical and complex issues
- Experience in reviewing, updating and creating policies
- Great communicator with an ability to write technical reports
- Enthusiastic about providing high-quality customer service
