Position: Automotive Mechanic (Experienced)Responsibilities
- Perform general servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions (automatic and manual), braking systems, and cooling systems.
- Perform suspension and steering repairs, including shock absorbers, control arms, bushings, and wheel alignments (preferred).
- Conduct inspections and fault detection for pre-sale vehicles, ensuring vehicles meet safety and quality requirements.
- Complete timing belt replacements, clutch repairs, and other major mechanical jobs when required.
- Maintain accurate job records, including parts used and work completed.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet workshop deadlines and maintain productivity.
- Assist with general workshop duties and support team members when needed.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic (essential)
- Relevant qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Certificate III or equivalent preferred) OR strong, demonstrable hands-on experience in the field (skills will be assessed on the job)
- Solid experience in:
- Engine diagnostics and repairs
- Suspension and steering systems
- Brake systems
- General servicing and maintenance
- Ability to diagnose faults independently (not just basic servicing)
- Experience using diagnostic scanners and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s licence (manual preferred)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
