About the role
In this role, you'll coordinate the day-to-day operations of two dynamic indoor sports facilities, ensuring the seamless delivery of programs, services, activities, bookings and events. You'll drive exceptional customer experiences while overseeing program development and delivery, coordinating and developing staff, managing venue bookings and payment systems, and ensuring the facilities operate efficiently, effectively and to the highest standard every day.
Work type: Permanent, full-time.
Classification: Band 5, $83,436 pa plus super.
Key responsibilities include:
- To assist the Stadiums Manager in the strategic development of the Centre.
- Efficient completion of administrative functions inclusive and not limited to: bank reconciliation, accounts payable, event/user group invoicing and preferred supplier processing.
- To assist with the development of venue operational policy and procedure.
- To take responsibility for staff rostering, performance management as well as the induction and training of venue staff in association with the Stadiums Manager.
- Lead a team of front-line service staff (including shift supervisors) to set expectations and ensure the service delivered is in line with these standards.
- To provide leadership in the development, coordination and evaluation of venue activities, programs, events and/or competitions.
- Ensure staff qualifications, training and other staff requirements remain current, ensuring rostering accurately reflects only qualified staff.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours including evenings and weekends.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a supervisory role within a recreation / leisure facility. A tertiary qualification in Sports Management or similar is desirable but not imperative.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in staff rostering and resource management inline with budget parameters.
- A sound knowledge of general administrative functions and cash control procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with staff and client groups.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with sporting clubs, community groups and school regarding facilities, activities, competitions and programs at the venue.
- Ability to effectively supervise and provide on the job training to staff.
- Demonstrated ability in providing excellence in customer service.
- Current Level 2 First Aid
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current driver's license
- Chief Warden training completed or willingness to obtain
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children's Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
