About the Role
Smokehouse Meat & Co Grill & Bar is looking for a skilled and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our kitchen team at our Southbank location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic tandoori dishes, maintaining high food-quality standards, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. We are looking for someone with strong experience in tandoor cooking who takes pride in delivering delicious, high-quality food in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of authentic tandoori dishes.
- Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
- Prepare marinades, sauces, meats, breads, and other ingredients.
- Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Manage food preparation and cooking during busy service periods.
- Monitor food stock and minimise wastage.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation.
- Follow recipes and contribute to maintaining the restaurant's food standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of tandoori cooking techniques.
- Experience preparing tandoori meats, seafood, vegetables, naan, and other tandoor-based dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
