About the role
The Cook/Supervisor Food Services is responsible for the ordering, preparation and cooking of patient meals at Kilcoy Hospital, ensuring the delivery of a safe, nutritious and high-quality food service that meets dietary requirements and Queensland Health standards. The role plays a vital part in supporting patient care through the timely production and presentation of meals that meet individual patient needs.
The successful candidate will oversee food preparation activities, stock control and ordering processes, maintain compliance with food safety and HACCP requirements, and utilise computerised food service systems to support meal production and delivery. The role requires a proactive and customer-focused approach to ensure quality service delivery while maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals in accordance with dietary requirements, production standards and food safety guidelines.
Oversee stock control, ordering and inventory management processes while ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements and Queensland Health guidelines.
Monitor and maintain food safety systems, HACCP documentation and kitchen hygiene standards to support safe food service delivery.
Utilise computerised menu and food service systems to manage patient meal selections, production information and reporting requirements.
Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication and teamwork skills while working independently and resolving issues in a busy food service environment.
