Are you an experienced Distribution Officer looking to join a growing team? We are looking for reliable safety focused Operator to support our Distribution Centre in Cavan.

As a Distribution Officer you will assist with the running of the dispatch functions of the warehouse by delivering our customers’ orders on time and in full. This role will oversee the movement and delivery of goods from the warehouse to customers and other locations.
The Role & About You:
- Perform daily forklift pre-start inspections, including replacing gas cylinders when required.
- Ensure full compliance with site safety rules, including the use of PPE, maintaining safe pedestrian-forklift separation, and adhering to all safety signage and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety audits, including load restraint and stack height checks,
- Ensure Risk assessments, Safe Start conversations, and ensuring visitor adherence to safety protocols are conducted
- Coordinate delivery scheduling and communicate effectively with transport providers to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
- Carry out manual handling tasks, such as cutting straps from stock.
- Manage stock placement, including storing palletised and non-palletised goods, stacking accessory SKUs, and rearranging leaning stacks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment through regular housekeeping duties, including the removal of strapping, dunnage, and broken pallets.
- Goods receiving in and out, Load products onto trucks for customer deliveries, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Accurately pick customer orders and complete associated documentation, including dockets and data entry.
- Assist with loading preparation, including placing gluts on packs and strapping for transport.
- Pick and load accessory items such as buckets, bags, strips, top hats, capping, and other long accessories.
- Split product packs (e.g., flat sheets, trims, columns) and sort damaged stock for appropriate handling.
- Participate in monthly and annual stocktakes to support inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Adhoc duties as required
What you will need:
- Hold a valid Driver’s License
- SAP experience preferred, but not essential
- Current Forklift License – up to 12 months experience operating a Forklift
- Proven experience in a warehouse operations environment operating a forklift.
- Knowledge of load restraint principles and safe loading practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Distribution & warehouse background experience highly regarded
- Demonstrate proficiency in general computer skills
