About the opportunity
The Paralegal and Enforcement Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Energy Safe Victoria's enforcement activities and helping deliver safer outcomes for Victorian communities. Working within our Legal Enforcement team which forms part of the Legal and Procurement Department, you'll provide paralegal and administrative support across infringement management, internal reviews, litigation preparation, legal research and responses to statutory information requests.
Within Energy Safe Victoria's Legal, Governance and Regulatory Policy Division, this role will also work closely with Investigations and other operational teams, enabling the coordinated progression of enforcement matters through effective triage, document management, and communication and engagement protocols.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated paralegal professional looking to gain exposure to regulatory enforcement, court processes and complex legal matters within a purpose-driven government organisation.
What you'll contribute
In this role, you'll support the effective delivery of Energy Safe Victoria's enforcement functions through:
- Administering infringement notices, official warnings and internal review processes.
- Supporting litigation activities, including preparing court documents, briefs and evidence materials.
- Coordinating enforcement workflows between Legal, Investigations and operational teams.
- Assisting with responses to subpoenas, statutory notices and information requests.
- Undertaking legal research, analysis and knowledge management activities.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements that strengthen legal operations and enforcement outcomes
- Other relevant duties and involvement in projects as required to support the Legal and Procurement Department.
To be successful, you'll bring
- Experience working in a paralegal or legal support role.
- Strong legal research, document management and administrative capabilities.
- An exceptional eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence working with legal systems, SharePoint and court portals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportuniti es for process improvement and operational efficiency.
