Your role
As a Psychologist / Specialist Psychologist, you'll play a critical role in providing support that fosters change through evidence-based psychological intervention and assessment. Working in a dynamic environment within a multidisciplinary team, you'll build specialist expertise in correctional psychology while making a meaningful contribution to rehabilitation, community safety and positive outcomes for people in custody.

What you’ll do
In this role, you'll work alongside a team of psychologists, case managers and operational staff to deliver high-quality psychological services to offenders within a correctional environment.
You'll conduct psychological assessments and criminogenic risk evaluations, develop case formulations and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs. Using your clinical skills, you'll help people address psychological, and behavioural issues that may contribute to offending behaviour and impact their rehabilitation journey.
You'll contribute to the development of offender management and case plans, ensuring psychological factors are appropriately considered in decision-making and rehabilitation strategies. Your expertise will also support staff and stakeholders through consultation, advice and guidance regarding offender management and behavioural risks.
You'll maintain high-quality clinical documentation and ensure professional standards are met through accurate and timely record keeping.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for a fully registered psychologist who is passionate about rehabilitation, committed to professional excellence and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
You will bring experience, in psychological assessment, case formulation and intervention, together with knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
You will be resilient, adaptable and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift Your communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build rapport with diverse client groups and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
Most importantly, you'll demonstrate sound professional judgement, a commitment to ethical and trauma-informed practice, and a genuine interest in supporting rehabilitation and positive behavioural change.
