About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis.
In this role, you will provide person-centred support to participants living with physical, intellectual and/or psychosocial disabilities. You will help participants maintain their independence, achieve their individual goals and participate safely and confidently in their homes and communities.
We are looking for someone who genuinely values dignity, choice, respect and independence and can provide high-quality support tailored to each participant's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Providing individualised support in accordance with participants' care and support plans.
- Supporting participants with low, moderate and high support needs.
- Providing appropriate support to participants who may display challenging or complex behaviours.
- Assisting participants with activities of daily living.
- Providing community access and social participation support.
- Supporting participants to build independence and develop everyday living skills.
- Providing personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Supporting participants to live safely and independently in their own homes.
- Assisting participants to participate in their local community in a safe and dignified manner.
- Encouraging participants to make informed choices and participate in decisions about the support and services they receive.
- Maintaining accurate records, progress notes and other required documentation.
- Communicating professionally with participants, families, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders.
- Following organisational policies, procedures and individual care plans at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Disability Support, Community Services, or a related qualification – preferred.
- Previous experience in disability support or a similar care role – required.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one.
- Current Working with Vunerable People, where required for the role.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module where applicable.
- A current and valid Australian driver's licence, where driving is required as part of the role.
- Relevant training or experience in manual handling, medication assistance, behaviour support and personal care is highly regarded.
- Appropriate Australian working rights.
Successful applicants may be required to provide evidence of relevant qualifications, checks, licences and certifications before commencing employment.

- Experience supporting people with disability.
- Confidence providing personal care and assistance with daily living.
- Ability to work with participants who have varying levels of support needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to changing situations.
- Good computer literacy, including confidence using Microsoft applications.
- Ability to follow care plans, procedures and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
