About the Role
Favourhill Care is seeking an experienced and compassionate Female Support Worker to support a male participant living with a Psychosocial Disability.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands the importance of building trust, consistency, and meaningful relationships. The participant experiences significant anxiety and barriers that can impact daily functioning and goal achievement. We are looking for a support worker who can work patiently alongside the participant, using a strengths-based approach and practical strategies to promote independence and progress.
The participant also has a small dog, so applicants must be comfortable around pets.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a support worker who:
- Has experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities and complex mental health challenges.
- Understands capacity-building approaches and can support participants to work towards their goals through achievable, step-by-step strategies.
- Is reliable, consistent, and committed to providing continuity of care.
- Can build rapport and establish trusting professional relationships.
- Is confident working with anxiety-related barriers and can adapt supports to meet the participant's needs.
- Demonstrates patience, resilience, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Is proactive, able to take initiative, and can motivate and encourage participant engagement.
- Is seeking a long-term support role and values making a genuine difference in someone's life.
Pay: $35.00 – $55.34 per hour
