As we continue to expand our health offerings, we are seeking an exceptional academic leader to drive the continued growth and success of our Speech Pathology discipline. Whether appointed at Associate Professor or Professor level, you will play a pivotal role in advancing teaching excellence, research impact, clinical education and professional engagement.
Based at our Ipswich campus, you'll be part of a dynamic health education environment with strong industry and community connections. It is an exciting time to join UniSQ, with our new Ipswich Health Building opening in early 2027. This purpose-built facility will expand health education, research and training capacity through contemporary teaching spaces, laboratories and collaborative learning environments, supporting the future growth of health disciplines and Australia’s future health workforce.

What you'll do
As a senior member of the School, you will help drive the continued growth and success of the accredited Speech Pathology program at UniSQ through your leadership in teaching, research and engagement. In particular, you will:

Lead and deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching.

Lead curriculum development, course coordination and program enhancement activities.

Lead program accreditation activities
-
Undertake and lead impactful research that advances the discipline and delivers real-world impact.

Build research collaborations and pursue external funding opportunities.

Supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.

Develop strong partnerships with industry, government, professional bodies and the broader community.

Provide leadership, mentoring and support to academic colleagues.
What will help you succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in a relevant discipline.

Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
-
A demonstrated record of scholarly and professional achievement with significant contributions to teaching, research and the profession.

Experience delivering high-quality tertiary teaching and leading initiatives that enhance student outcomes.

Experience with speech pathology program accreditation.
-
A strong research track record, including publications, research leadership, collaboration and funding success appropriate to your career stage.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders.

Proven leadership capability, including the ability to mentor, coach and develop others.
Appointment will be made as Associate Professor or Professor, depending on your qualifications and experience.

Level D - Total full-time remuneration range $201,491 to $221,564 pa (includes full-time salary range of $169,927 to $186,855 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)

Level E - Total full-time remuneration $258,373 pa (includes full-time salary of $217,899 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
