About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and professional male Disability Support Worker to provide community access support to an NDIS participant based in Brunswick, Victoria. This casual role involves supporting the participant to engage safely and confidently in community activities while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Strong spoken and written English skills are essential for effective communication, accurate documentation, and safe service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one community access support in line with the participant’s NDIS goals
- Support participation in community activities such as outings, appointments, shopping, and recreational activities
- Promote independence, confidence, and social inclusion
- Ensure the participant’s safety at all times while in the community
- Follow Behaviour Support Plans, risk assessments, and organisational policies
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the participant and support team
- Accurately complete shift notes, incident reports, and other required documentation
- Maintain professional boundaries and respect confidentiality and privacy
Essential Criteria
- Male support worker (gender-specific support requirement)
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
- Ability to engage positively and professionally in community settings
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent
- Previous experience in disability or community access support
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
