We’re looking for a hospitality manager to take the lead at our beautiful Sydney CBD store.
This is a great role for a restaurant, venue or retail manager who loves the energy of busy service and wants to work for a business that’s constantly growing, experimenting and creating new things — while keeping the personality and sense of fun that’s been part of Messina for nearly 25 years.
The role
Our stores are fast-paced and a little bit different. From the freshly-churned gelato that's achieved cult-like status to the music to the people behind the counter, we want every customer who walks through the door to have a great experience.
As Hospitality Manager, you’ll have ownership of the day-to-day running of the store and, most importantly, the team that makes it all happen.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Recruiting and training great people
- Creating a fun and inclusive team culture
- Delivering genuinely great customer service
- Maintaining the quality of our delicious gelato
- Working closely with the broader Messina family (marketing, production, operations and logistics)
Who we’re looking for
You’re an experienced hospitality or retail manager who is confident leading a busy venue and genuinely enjoys managing people.
Ideally, you’ll have some years of management experience in a high-volume restaurant, hospitality or retail environment. You’ll be organised, commercially switched on and calm when things get hectic — but you’ll also know that a great workplace should be fun.
Strong communication skills are essential, because all of our people need to feel supported and enjoy coming to work.
Full Australian work rights are essential.
