Job Description
Ramsay Health Care is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Director of Finance to join the Executive Leadership Team at Joondalup Health Campus, one of Western Australia’s largest and most complex healthcare environments. This is an opportunity to sit at the heart of the business, partnering with senior clinical and operational leaders to influence performance, uncover opportunities and support the campus through an exciting period of growth and investment. More than a traditional finance leadership role, you’ll bring commercial curiosity, strategic thinking and the confidence to challenge the status quo - turning financial insight into meaningful action and helping shape the future of one of WA’s most significant healthcare campuses.
What You’ll Do
As Director of Finance, you’ll be a trusted commercial and financial partner to the CEO and hospital leadership team, providing the insight and challenge needed to drive informed decision-making, strong financial performance and effective governance.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Lead the hospital’s financial strategy, planning and performance, providing insight that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
-
Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, ensuring strong financial discipline and visibility of performance.
-
Identify and drive opportunities to improve financial performance, efficiency and sustainable growth.
-
Partner with clinical and operational leaders to strengthen financial capability, accountability and commercial decision-making.
-
Oversee capital planning and investment decisions, ensuring opportunities are assessed through a strong commercial lens.
-
Provide strategic oversight of financial governance, compliance, risk and internal controls.
-
Work closely with Ramsay’s Corporate Finance and shared-service teams to ensure effective financial management and reporting.
-
Act as a trusted financial and commercial advisor to the CEO and Executive Team, bringing clarity, challenge and practical solutions.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a senior finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with commercial thinking, strategic influence and a genuine passion for partnering with the business. You’ll be comfortable operating at Executive level while also getting into the detail to understand what is driving performance and where opportunities exist.
You will bring:
-
Senior finance leadership experience within a large, complex and/or multidisciplinary organisation, ideally within healthcare or another highly regulated environment.
-
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to look beyond the numbers and understand the broader operational drivers of performance.
-
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
-
The ability to translate complex financial and operational information into clear insights, recommendations and practical actions.
-
Strong stakeholder management and the confidence to challenge, influence and engage senior executives, clinical leaders and operational stakeholders.
-
Demonstrated experience leading change, transformation and continuous improvement across complex environments.
-
Strong capability across strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial performance, capital planning and investment decisions.
-
A track record of identifying commercial opportunities, improving efficiency and supporting sustainable business growth.
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and make complex financial concepts accessible to non-finance stakeholders.
-
CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable.
