We’re looking for a Head of Delivery Enablement to define and lead a consistent delivery strategy across Technology. This role brings structure and clarity to how delivery operates at scale, establishing the frameworks, tooling, governance, and planning practices that enable teams to perform at their best.
You’ll work closely with senior engineering leaders to bring consistency to ways of working, uplift delivery maturity, and build strong planning and reporting capability across squads, tribes, and portfolios. This is a role for someone who has led complex delivery environments and is motivated to shape how high‑performing teams operate at scale.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning and evolving the delivery practice across Technology, including agile, scaled agile, and lean ways of working.
- Defining and embedding consistent frameworks for sprint cadence, ceremonies, planning, and team health.
- Designing and operating delivery reporting and governance that gives leaders clear visibility of progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Leading portfolio and tribe‑level planning, including big room planning and trimester‑based planning cycles.
- Bringing structure and consistency to how squads plan, track, and report delivery across multiple domains.
- Partnering with Heads of Engineering and Technical Program Managers to support delivery outcomes without duplicating accountability.
- Leading a team of delivery practitioners who coach and support squads across the organisation.
- Building and fostering a strong delivery community of practice across engineering, product, and delivery roles.
- Establishing and governing delivery tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence) and evolving their use to support better outcomes.
- Providing thought leadership on delivery performance, including the use of metrics (e.g. velocity, flow, DORA) and emerging AI‑enabled tooling to improve delivery effectiveness.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Significant experience in delivery leadership, program management, or agile practice within a large, complex technology organisation.
- A track record of leading major programs or portfolios, with the ability to step back and focus on enabling others to deliver.
- Experience designing and embedding delivery frameworks, governance models, and tooling strategies at scale.
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience working across multiple teams or tribes, bringing alignment and consistency to ways of working.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, scaled approaches) and when to apply them pragmatically.
- Strong facilitation capability, including leading large scale planning events and executive forums.
- A coaching mindset, with experience developing delivery capability across teams or communities of practice.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how delivery practices influence product and engineering outcomes.
- Curiosity and interest in evolving delivery through metrics, tooling, and AI enabled approaches.
