Applications are invited for the full time position of Economic Development Coordinator with Leeton Shire Council.
The primary purpose of the position:

Promote sustainable economic development in the Leeton Shire by developing and implementing strategies and collaborative projects that drive business attraction, retention and expansion.

Undertake project and research work under the direction of the Director Economic & Community Development.
Full details of specific duties are detailed in the Operations section of the Position Description (attached) and include (but not limited to):

Coordinate the development and implementation of Leeton’s Economic Development Strategy, Business Attraction Prospectus (including a capability statement) and other associated plans.

Identify, promote and facilitate business retention, expansion and attraction opportunities.
Participate in regional economic planning activities and actively maintain a network of contacts to support economic development initiatives, including with relevant government agencies.
Identify and administer grant funding applications and acquittals that support Leeton Shire to deliver identified organisational priorities.
The applicant will have a degree or an appropriate tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Business, Urban Planning or other relevant area with a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant work experience.
Salary and conditions: The position is Grade 15 in Council’s salary system ($1792.40 - $2007.60 / week) depending on qualifications and experience.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Functional Assessment which includes an alcohol and other drug screening and a hearing test.
