Primary objective
Provide expertise, assistance and advice in the preparation of Offender Management Plans including conducting risk/needs and
other assessments, advising on appropriate intervention and reintegration strategies and participating in meetings and reviews.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. As directed conduct risk/needs and other assessments on prisoners aimed at the development of Offender Management Plans.
2. Consult and provide advice to the Sentence Management Team on Offender Management Plans for prisoners and sentence
management activities and strategies.
3. Assist in the development of the Offender Management Plans for offenders and activities to prepare for their transition to the
community.
4. Provide assessments and reports as required, and maintain accurate, legible and proficient client case notes, records and
statistics.
5. Be an active member of a multi-disciplinary team and participate in the ongoing development and implementation of sentence
management and the Integrated Offender Management System.
6. Carry out duties as requested by the Sentence Management Coordinator.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including proven interpersonal, facilitation, high level of computer systems
skills, written and oral communication skills of a high order.
2. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures, in particular experience working with and communicating with
Aboriginal clients.
3. Sound organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently and to work effectively within a team to achieve
organisational objectives.
4. Demonstrated experience and ability in the use of computer applications in order to produce high level documentation and
manage data.
5. Demonstrated knowledge in the application of appropriate assessment tools to identify needs and options for clients or ability
to gain in a timely manner.
6. Demonstrated experience in case management with a high level of report reporting to achieve operational goals.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of contemporary correctional/justice theories.
2. Demonstrated experience in working with criminal justice or related programs and understanding of operating within the
confines of a custodial environment.

The Department of the Attorney-General and Justice (NT Correctional Services Division) has a Smoke Free Policy. Staff are not
