Support Worker Required – Male Muslim Support Worker Preferred
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Support Worker to provide support to a young person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 2.
The successful applicant will support the client to engage in meaningful activities, build confidence and independence, participate in the community and develop positive social connections. The role will involve providing patient, person-centred support tailored to the clients individual needs, interests and goals.
The family and guardians have expressed a preference for a male Support Worker who is Muslim, as shared cultural and religious values may assist in building a strong connection and rapport with the client and support the family’s preferences.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Compassionate, patient and reliable
- Experienced in supporting people with autism and/or complex support needs
- Confident in supporting community access and meaningful activities
- Respectful of Islamic values and family preferences
- Able to build a positive, trusting relationship with Benjamin
- A strong communicator with a person-centred approach
- Able to work collaboratively with Benjamin’s family, guardians and support team
Relevant experience in disability support, autism support or behavioural support is highly regarded.
Requirements:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check, where applicable
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications in disability support are highly regarded
- Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle may be required, depending on the support activities
