About the Opportunity
Seasons is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences that enhance the quality of life of our residents. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to lead our kitchen operations within our Mango Hill community. This is an opportunity to combine your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and passion for service to deliver nutritious and delicious meals while fostering a positive dining experience for residents. The role is responsible for menu planning, food production, team leadership, food safety compliance, and cost-effective kitchen management.
This is a full-time opportunity with 6am-2pm shifts, working alternate weekends.
You will:
- Lead all kitchen operations, ensuring meals are prepared and presented to the highest quality, service, and food safety standards.
- Plan, develop, and implement seasonal menus according to dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs.
- Manage food purchasing, supplier relationships, stock control, and labour costs to achieve budget and efficiency targets.
- Monitor and maintain Food Safety Program requirements, HACCP compliance, and all relevant catering regulations.
- Lead, coach, and train kitchen team members in food preparation, safe food handling, kitchen procedures, and equipment use.
- Engage with residents and community teams, responding to feedback and continuously improving menus and dining experiences.
Who we’re looking for:
You’re a hands-on and compassionate Chef with strong leadership skills, experience in high-volume food production, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older Australians. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are highly organised and detail-focused, and take pride in maintaining excellent food quality, safety, and service standards.
You’ll also bring:
- 5yrs+ experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably within an aged care environment.
- Diploma of Hospitality Management or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (essential).
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate – Health and Community Sector (essential).
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Current national police check.
