Your Future Role

We have several opportunities available, working on our Regional Rollingstock Maintenance (RRSCM) Contract. You'll play a key role in ensuring our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while contributing to the future of sustainable transport. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of rollingstock systems, including braking, traction and suspension components. Working within a collaborative maintenance team, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that meet operational and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing, repairing, overhauling and modifying rail vehicle systems.
- Supporting fleet reliability, safety and performance outcomes.
- Following maintenance procedures, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Undertaking general workshop and maintenance duties as required.
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S legislation, policies and procedures.
- Working effectively both independently and within a team environment.

- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals and technical documents.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- The willingness to undertake further training and development opportunities.
- A willingness to obtain and maintain forklift or other relevant permits as needed
- Experience in rail maintenance (highly regarded but not essential).
- Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade), or equivalent Australian Recognised Qualification.
