We're seeking a Senior Base Engineer with either B1.2 or B2 LAME qualifications to maintain our light aircraft fleet and components at the Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA). This is a full-time position based in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
The Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express Holdings PTY Ltd (Rex). Reporting:
This position reports to the General Manager of Engineering.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with engineering procedures and certification requirements in their particular area of responsibility and;
- Maintaining at their Maintenance Base the Engineering Infrastructure necessary to ensure that all KPI’s are met (eg OTP etc.)
- Monitoring and controlling costs associated with aircraft and GSE maintenance.
- Review in advance, the planned maintenance activities to be performed;
- Co-ordination of manpower, equipment, tooling, data and Aeronautical Products to ensure the timely completion of all maintenance activities;
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on AAPA & other Rex Group aircraft and components within a maintenance team.
- Ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out to a high standard, ensuring integrity and robustness of aircraft to meet operational requirementsâ¨
- Monitor training & performance requirements for engineering staff
- Monitor, report on & participate in WHS issues & directives
- Investigative & resolve safety reports & audit findings
- Assist in management of AAPA fleet spares store
- Participate in aircraft recovery when necessary
- Observe all standards and procedures contained within Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations, as well as individual aircraft systems maintenance.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- CASA B1.2 licence (B1.1 or B2 candidates with GA experience are also suitable)
- A demonstrated ability to perform aircraft and component maintenance, modification and troubleshooting in accordance with regulatory requirements, under minimal supervision and adhere to deadlines.
- An operational understanding of CAR 30 & PART66 145 regulations and their applications
- General Aviation experience
- A sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and documentation
- Working knowledge of WH&S procedures
- A valid driver’s licence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A high level of motivation with a team-focused work ethic
- Flexibility with working hours
- Meet the necessary requirements to hold an Aviation Security Identity Card and Airside Driving Licence.
Preferred Selection Criteria:
- B1.1 or B2 CASA licence including piston engine privileges
- Experience in Airline or flight training school operations
- King-air group & IAI West-Wind 1124 experience or ratings
- Cert 4 or Diploma in Aeroskills
