Employer: C-Tech Laser Pty LtdLocation: Meadowbrook, QueenslandEmployment: Full-time, minimum 38 hours per weekANZSCO: 225411 – Sales Representative (Industrial Products)Salary: 100000-120000 plus superannuationPosition details:The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for providing technical sales, estimating, and customer support services for C-Tech Laser Pty Ltd.'s precision laser cutting, steel processing, and fabrication services.The role requires a sound understanding of engineering drawings, steel and manufacturing materials, laser-cutting processes, CAD-based systems and technical project requirements.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with customers.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with existing and prospective commercial and industrial customers.
- Assess customers' technical requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and intended applications to determine suitable laser-cutting and steel fabrication solutions.
- Advise customers on appropriate steel types, material grades, thicknesses, dimensions, and processing requirements according to the requirements of each project.
- Provide technical advice regarding C-Tech Laser's laser cutting, steel processing, and associated fabrication capabilities.
- Prepare detailed estimates and commercial quotations for laser cutting, steel processing, and fabrication work based on material quantities, processing requirements, production time, and applicable costs.
- Use AutoCAD and BYPART or similar production software to assist with estimating, component preparation, and customer quotations.
- Review customer drawings and prepare or modify CAD-based component drawings where required to accurately translate customer requirements into production-ready information.
- Optimise component layouts and material utilisation to minimise steel wastage and achieve efficient laser-cutting outcomes.
- Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and commercial terms to prospective and existing customers and follow up outstanding quotations to convert appropriate opportunities into confirmed sales.
- Discuss and negotiate pricing, specifications, delivery requirements, and commercial terms within authorised company parameters.
- Process customer purchase orders and ensure specifications, quantities, material grades, drawings and delivery requirements are accurately communicated to the production team.
- Liaise with production, operations and scheduling personnel to ensure customer orders can be manufactured efficiently and delivered in accordance with agreed requirements.
- Monitor the progress of customer orders and maintain communication with clients regarding production, technical issues and expected delivery requirements.
- Follow up with customers after completion of orders to confirm satisfaction, resolve technical or commercial issues and identify opportunities for further business.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of C-Tech Laser's services, manufacturing capabilities, materials, machinery, production processes and technological developments.
- Monitor customer requirements, competitor activities, pricing conditions and developments within the engineering, construction and manufacturing markets.
- Maintain an active portfolio of customer accounts, quotations, sales opportunities and prospective clients.
- Prepare sales, quotation and customer activity reports for management and provide information regarding market demand and business opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with the Branch Manager, Operations Manager and production personnel to improve customer service, production efficiency and commercial outcomes.
- Ensure customer orders and technical specifications comply with applicable quality assurance, workplace health and safety and company procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:The position requires:
- A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related technical discipline;
- demonstrated experience in technical sales, industrial estimating, engineering, manufacturing or a closely related environment;
- experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications;
- knowledge of steel products, manufacturing materials and fabrication or laser-cutting processes;
- experience preparing technical quotations and estimates;
- proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD/CAM or similar engineering/manufacturing software;
- strong customer relationship, negotiation and commercial communication skills; and
- the ability to communicate technical requirements effectively between customers and production personnel.
Reporting to:The technical sales representative reports to ... and works closely with production, estimating, scheduling, and administration personnel.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
