The purpose of the Planner is to support priority planning projects being delivered by the Major Planning Projects (MPP) team, including interface activities with other significant planning projects being delivered outside of TMR.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Providing technical advice and support relating to multi-modal transport planning projects to enable delivery of integrated, fit-for-purpose transport solutions that meet project and network objectives.
Assist in the project management of integrated multi-modal transport planning projects or significant elements of these studies.
Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to align and integrate transport planning interests and stakeholder needs across projects to ensure stakeholder support.
Undertaking technical research and analysis to resolve complex transport planning problems to ensure project outcomes are fit for purpose, deliver the intended benefits and align with network objectives.
Provide comprehensive administrative support, including coordinating meetings, maintaining spreadsheets and registers, and preparing and delivering documents, reports, correspondence, briefings, and presentations with timely and accurate information.

Requirements of the role
Technical skills - able to evidence knowledge and skills in the transport planning/planning discipline in one or more of the following areas: transport infrastructure planning (public or active transport), bus network planning, option development and assessment, transport modelling or related relevant transport planning areas.
Communication and stakeholder engagement - able to communicate in a clear, concise manner and is considerate of the audience and stakeholder or customer interests.
Technical analysis - experience and evidence of undertaking research, critical and technical analysis, considering project options, solving problems, and effectively communicating findings and recommendations for transport planning projects.
Timely advice and achieving results - provide timely advice and inputs to meet deadlines and applies skills and knowledge to maintain a high standard of practice and achieve the best results for the organisation and our customers.
