Position – Textile, Clothing and Footwear Mechanic
Location – Campbellfield, VIC 3061
Salary - $79,000 - $89,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled Textile, Clothing and Footwear Mechanic with specialist experience in computerised circular hosiery machinery. Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, maintaining and repairing textile production machinery to ensure efficient production, minimise downtime and maintain exceptional product quality. You will also provide technical support to production staff while ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Set up, adjust, calibrate and maintain computerised circular hosiery knitting machines to achieve optimal production performance.
· Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and machine programming faults to minimise production downtime.
· Inspect, dismantle, repair and replace worn, damaged or defective machine components.
· Measure, inspect and adjust moving parts, guides, sensors, stops and operating controls to ensure accurate machine operation.
· Prepare hosiery patterns using Graph 6 software and modify machine programs to optimise production efficiency and product quality.
· Conduct preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and emergency repairs on textile production equipment.
· Monitor machine performance, production output and product quality, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities, repairs and production adjustments.
· Ensure machinery complies with workplace health and safety requirements and manufacturer specifications.
· Provide technical guidance and support to machine operators and assist with production supervision and team leadership when required.
· Liaise with production personnel to prioritise maintenance activities and minimise disruption to manufacturing operations.
· Maintain workshop tools, spare parts and maintenance equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or agreed equivalent).
· Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) post training experience maintaining and repairing computerised circular hosiery knitting machines.
· Demonstrated experience using Graph 6 machine programming and hosiery pattern design software.
· Strong mechanical troubleshooting, fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
· Practical knowledge of hosiery manufacturing processes and textile quality control requirements.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team environment.
· High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing consistently high-quality outcomes.
· Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
· Commitment to workplace health and safety and continuous improvement.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
WHAT IS ON OFFER:
· A competitive salary of $79,000 to $89,000 (dependant on experience) plus superannuation per annum.
