About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, thrives in a high-volume environment, and takes pride in preparing and presenting quality food.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present food in accordance with menu requirements
- Examine ingredients to ensure quality, freshness, and suitability for service
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment
- Season food appropriately during cooking, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
- Portion food, plate dishes, and apply sauces and garnishes to brand standards
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and service
- Store food in temperature-controlled facilities following food safety standards
- Manage stock rotation using FIFO practices
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen workstations
- Explain and enforce hygiene, health, and food safety regulations
About You
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV and at least 1 year of work experience OR 3 years of work experience to substitute formal qualification”
- Experience with seafood (highly regarded but not essential)
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and well presented
