About the role:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. As our Chef, you will play a key role in creating and executing our menu, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and taste. You will work closely with our kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including breakfast dishes, sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts.
- Develop and update menu offerings based on seasonal ingredients.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training new employees, delegating tasks, and maintaining a productive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and storage areas.
- Collaborate with owners on menu planning for weekly and seasonal specials.
- Uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional food quality and presentation to our customers.
About you:
- Minimum one year of proven experience as a Chef in a similar role, preferably in a café or restaurant environment.
- Qualification: Minimum Certificate III or Certificate IV in related discipline is required.
- Culinary certification or relevant training from a recognised institution.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles, and presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious experiences
- Flexibility to work across a 7 day week
