About the role
To provide comprehensive expertise and services as required by West Moreton Health Service in the area of Medical Imaging. Medical Imaging supports the treatment of inpatients and outpatients within Ipswich Hospital and supports Rural Hospitals and Prison Health within West Moreton. Medical Imaging provides a range of modalities including CT, MRI, OPG, Ultrasound, Mammography, General X-ray and Fluoroscopy. There is a strong demand for interventional procedures.
This role will also facilitate a learning environment by sharing knowledge and expertise, participating in teaching and research activities and supporting the development of colleagues, including being a role model for registrars, students and other personnel and assist in educational activities for doctors, students, staff in non-medical streams and patients.
In this role, you will liaise and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective team functioning, positive patient outcomes and the achievement of departmental objectives, including ensuring that reports are dictated and verified promptly.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Ability to perform and supervise a range of 'Tier A' image guided procedures.
Ability to lead and manage the delivery of patient care in area of Medical Imaging.
Ability to manage complex clinical situations, ideally within a tertiary level teaching facility.
Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively use problem solving, change management and conflict resolution frameworks.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, patients and their carers'.
Mandatory Requirements:
Possession of a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a registered tertiary institution.
Possession of a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (or equivalent).
Current registration (or be eligible for registration) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice as a Specialist in Radiology.
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
