Danish Nosh Bakery Cafe is a long-standing local favourite in Caulfield, offering a relaxed setting for breakfast, brunch and lunch alongside our renowned bakery and bagelry.
We are looking for a full-time Chef to join our busy kitchen team and help deliver the high-quality breakfast, brunch, bakery and deli-style offerings that our customers love.
Skills and Experience:
The role reports daily to the business owner and manager, and suits an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly organised Chef.
Key requirements and responsibilities:
· Plan, prepare, cook and present high-quality breakfast, brunch, lunch, bakery and deli-style menu items in accordance with Danish Nosh’s food standards and recipes.
· Develop and contribute to seasonal menus, daily specials and new product offerings that reflect the café’s European, Middle Eastern and New York deli influences.
· Supervise food preparation activities and coordinate kitchen operations to ensure efficient service during busy trading periods, including managing and supervising kitchen staff
· Monitor and manage food quality at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation, ensuring consistency and customer satisfaction.
· Manage stock levels, order ingredients and liaise with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory of fresh produce and kitchen supplies.
· Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of food products in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
· Ensure compliance with all food safety, and workplace health and safety regulations
· Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment.
A successful candidate will have:
· A culinary qualification
· A minimum of 1 year experience as a creative cafe chef, preparing and cooking high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes.
Requirements:
· Strong knowledge of breakfast and brunch-style dishes.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients and food presentation.
· Good organisational and time management skills.
· Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and stock control procedures.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
