We are currently seeking an effective Senior Specialist People Culture & Governance (PC&G) or HR Business Partner to work out of our state-of-the-art Head Office in Sydney Olympic Park NSW.
Reporting to the Manager PC&G, you will provide proactive HR generalist advice, guidance & timely ER / IR support to managers. You will manage first call advice across a range of HR issues & work collaboratively with the broader PC&G team.

The Opportunity
Coach, mentor & collaborate with PC&G team as well as managers in the application of HR systems & processes
Actively support managers with their team engagement to ensure consistency across the business
Work closely with HSEQ & leaders in managing workers’ compensation & injury management cases & where appropriate, identify & facilitate appropriate solutions
Act as a point of escalation for PC&G team in resolving payroll issues, STI & salary reviews & processing
Provide support to managers with ER/IR issues including performance management, restructuring, terminations & redundancies
Represent BMSA at Fair Work Commission matters e.g. disputes, mediation etc
Provide high-level support around conflict resolution, complaint investigation/resolution, award & legislation interpretation
Work with Manager PC&G to develop a robust HR Dashboard of key people metrics
Contribute to the effective implementation of HRIS and/or payroll systems
About You - Essential
Relevant HR technical qualifications at tertiary level
Experience working in a similar senior HR influencing role
Demonstrated ER/IR experience & expertise
Experience representing your organisation at the Fair Work Commission
Proven ability in building an effective value add HR service to the business
Strong background in effective coaching & mentoring of managers & leaders
Willingness for infrequent interstate travel when required
Current work rights in Australia
About You – Preferred
Experience in implementation & utilisation of HRIS and/or payroll systems
Experience in human resources within mining, heavy industry or related industries
