Advance Institute Australia is seeking an experienced and qualified RSA Trainer and Assessor to deliver and assess Responsible Service of Alcohol training to students in accordance with regulatory, industry and RTO compliance requirements.
About the Role
The RSA Trainer and Assessor will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment for SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol, ensuring students develop the knowledge and skills required to responsibly sell, serve and supply alcohol in accordance with NSW liquor laws and responsible service principles.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Deliver engaging and compliant RSA training sessions to students.
- Assess student competency in accordance with the unit requirements and RTO assessment procedures.
- Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with ASQA, RTO, Training Package and Liquor & Gaming NSW requirements.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, assessment and training records.
- Provide feedback and support to students throughout their training.
- Maintain current industry knowledge, vocational competency and professional development.
- Participate in validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow all Advance Institute Australia policies and procedures relating to training, assessment, compliance and student support.
Essential Selection Criteria
Applicants must have:
- A current TAE qualification, such as:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- another approved training and assessment credential accepted under current regulatory requirements.
- Current vocational competency in SITHFAB021 – Provide responsible service of alcohol.
- A current NSW RSA Competency Card with RSA endorsement.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory position in a hotel, registered club or licensed premises, with duties involving the service of liquor.
- Demonstrated current industry skills and knowledge in responsible service of alcohol, liquor licensing requirements and harm minimisation.
- Strong communication, presentation and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work with diverse student cohorts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate compliance records.
Desirable Criteria BUT NOT COMPULSORY
- Previous experience delivering RSA or hospitality-related training in an RTO environment.
- Experience using student management systems and learning management systems.
- Knowledge of ASQA Standards and RTO compliance requirements.
- Experience participating in validation and assessment moderation activities.
