Primary objective
Provide specialist advice in discipline area of expertise by managing the delivery of a wide range of construction projects on the
Capital Works, Minor New Works, Repairs and Maintenance, and Urgent Minor Repair programs for various client agencies in the
East Arnhem Region.
Context statement
Allocated projects may vary significantly in their scope, size and complexity, and are managed concurrently.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Contribute to the development of client’s infrastructure programs by developing scope and cost estimates for future
projects under consideration by client agencies.
2. Responsible for planning, investigations, project design, procurement and documentation, project administration and
financial management of projects to meet the client’s requirements in relation to time, cost and quality of work.
3. Ensure projects meet the requirements of the relevant Standards and codes as applied in the NT.
4. Deliver assigned Capital Works, Minor New Works and Repairs and Maintenance projects in the region, ensuring projects meet
the client’s requirements in relation to time, cost and quality in accordance with client briefs.
5. Travel (including driving solo and charter flights) to remote project sites.
6. Support Emergency Management for the Region and form part of the Region’s on call requirements.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant trade qualification related to the position’s area of specialisation in electrical/mechanical or other or relevant
experience in a field of technical work closely related to the duties of the vacancy.
2. Relevant experience in building construction and/or repairs and maintenance relevant to the area of specialisation to
independently manage projects from design through to construction and handover.
3. High-level communications skills with ability to effectively communicate complex and technical issues utilizing well-developed
information technology skills including Microsoft Office software.
4. Experience in procurement, contract administration and supervision of contracts with experience in preparing corresponding
project documentation and reports.
5. A high level of working knowledge of the Building Act, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards as applied in the NT
relevant to the area of specialization.
6. Current Driver’s Licence or have the ability to obtain.
7. Applicants must have the ability to obtain National Criminal History check, an Ochre Card and a White Card (NT).
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Government Contract Management or similar
