In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a dedicated team delivering road technology development and project management across the Network Integration & Technology team. You will contribute to the development, implementation and management of engineering and technology initiatives that improve network performance, operational efficiency and customer outcomes across the NSW transport network.
The role will support the identification, assessment and integration of innovative transport technologies, network optimisation opportunities and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions to address current and emerging network challenges.
As a Project Engineer, you will support development, project delivery and trial implementation activities, helping shape high-quality design outcomes while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with required standards.
You will work across road and transport infrastructure, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), road safety, network improvement, network efficiency, smart motorways and technology development projects. This includes supporting technology investigations, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development, solution design, technical specifications, operational performance analysis, traffic signal optimisation initiatives and data-driven decision making to improve network performance, safety and customer outcomes.

About you
Your technical capability in engineering, transport technology and project management, developed through experience in infrastructure, transport operations, ITS, traffic management or related engineering environments, will enable you to confidently support complex project delivery and respond to competing priorities.
You will bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify optimisation opportunities, assess technology solutions and provide sound technical advice to support network performance improvements and technology integration outcomes.
You will hold a four-year engineering degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Electronics or a related discipline. Experience working with ITS, traffic signal operations, SCATS, data analytics or network optimisation initiatives will be highly regarded.
You will also hold a current Australian driver’s licence and be willing to work outside normal hours and travel occasionally as required.
