About the Position
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring accountant to build the foundations of a finance career within a growing, multi-site organisation. Working alongside a wider team of accountants, bookkeepers and payroll staff, you will gain hands-on exposure to reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll support and month-end close, with structured on-the-job training and support towards your university, CA or CPA studies.
In this position, you will develop your skills across:
- Reconciliations – preparing daily and monthly bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations across multiple entities, including intercompany balances
- Tax Compliance – support with preparation of BAS, IAS and FBT
- Payroll support – assisting with fortnightly and monthly pay cycles for approximately 1,180 staff, along with payroll-related reconciliations and leave and salary accruals
- Month-end and compliance – preparing journals, accruals and fixed asset records, and supporting statutory reporting, audits and year-end processes
- Systems and process – building your confidence in NetSuite and Employment Hero, and contributing to continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
- Learning and development – working towards your CA or CPA qualification, with structured on-the-job training and genuine study support
About You
You have recently completed, or are well progressed in, a degree in accounting, commerce or finance, and are working towards or intending to commence your CA or CPA qualification. Some practical experience in a finance position is well regarded, but attitude, curiosity and a genuine interest in building an accounting career matter most. You take ownership of your work and pride yourself on accuracy, attention to detail and meeting deadlines. You have sound Excel skills and are confident across the MS365 suite.
You communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, take a proactive, hands-on approach, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
What We Offer
- Attractive remuneration and benefits (discounted health insurance and gym membership)
- Investment in state-of-the-art equipment
- Friendly, diverse and professional team
- Commitment to professional development and education
- Flexible and supportive working arrangements
