We are seeking an experienced Interaction Designer (UX/UI Designer) to support the design and delivery of user-centric, data-driven digital solutions.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Interaction Designer will apply human-centred design (HCD) practices to research, design, prototype and validate user interfaces. The role focuses on ensuring that systems are usable, accessible, and aligned with business and operational needs, while meeting Whole-of-Government (WoG) digital standards.
User Research & Discovery

Plan, conduct and facilitate user research activities, including interviews, observation, co-design workshops, and usability testing

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand user needs, behaviours and pain points
Research Synthesis & Insights

Translate research findings into actionable insights through artefacts such as personas, empathy maps, and insight reports

Present findings to delivery teams and executive stakeholders
Journey Mapping & Experience Design

Develop current-state and future-state journey maps, process flows and data flows

Visualise end-to-end user experiences across systems and services
Design & Prototyping

Create wireframes, interaction flows, and prototypes to communicate design solutions

Conduct iterative design cycles, validating concepts with users before development
Collaboration & Delivery Support

Work closely with business analysts, SMEs, architects and delivery teams to translate user needs into requirements, epics and features

Ensure alignment between user experience design, business processes and technical solutions
Usability & Accessibility Evaluation

Conduct usability testing and accessibility assessments

Identify design issues and recommend improvements through iterative design approaches
