About the Role:
The role of the Project Coordinator is to co-ordinate mechanical sub-contractors on site and supervise all aspects of the mechanical fitout including safety, quality, delivery, and site co-ordination. The Project Coordinator will also work closely with the Sub-contractor Team Leaders on each job to ensure labour and materials are co-ordinated to meet program milestone key dates, client inspections and project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision
- Supervision of Mechanical contracted labour to ensure compliant with safety processes and procedures, in accordance with the role requirements and to maximise performance
- Assist in forecasting project sub-contractor resource requirements
- Complete Mechanical Toolbox talks when required for High-Risk activities
- Ensure Quality Inspection ITPs are being completed on each project
Work Health Safety
- Instil and maintain WHS standards and for mechanical works
- Understand and comply with PMP (Project Management Plan)
- Understand and comply with relevant SWMS’s
- Ensure Project Site Establishment Inspections are completed on time
- Site inductions completed at start of project
- Sign-in, sign-out completed at start and end of work
- Report all incidents and hazards to Site Manager and MDM
- Report any hazard or unsafe behaviour to Site Manager and MDM
- Keeping the workplace in a clean and tidy condition
- Complete regular site inspections to monitor review site safety
Project Coordination
- Ensure building regulations, standards and by-laws are enforced in building operations
- Track project schedules
- Attendance at project site and prestart meetings
- Daily co-ordination with Sheldon Site Managers and Team Leaders of other trades
- Design co-ordination onsite and liaising with Design team for changes or clarifications
- Complete pre-start check lists
- Clearly understand Scope of Works and Program
- Complete weekly job status
- Co-ordinate mechanical work to required standards with professionalism and pride
- Co-ordinate mechanical works in line with program and scope of works
- Complete close out check lists in conjunction with Site Manager
Procurement
- Ensure major procurement items are ordered on time to meet completion deadlines
- Track sub-contractor costs against project budget allocation
- Coordinate supply of labour and materials (PAC Units, grills, fans)
- Order general mechanical materials required to complete the project
- Assist with variation request forms as required
- Send any Site Instructions for potential variations to PM
- Prepare Variations for PM approval
- Raise and send purchase orders
- Generate Invoices
- Manage and sign off supplier and contractor invoices
Labour & Maintenance
- Mechanical Installation in accordance with project scope and program
- Manage defects and reworks as authorised by Mechanical Division Manager

To be successful in this role you will need:
- Enrolled in Bachelor of Project Management/Construction Management
- General Construction Certificate (White Card)
- First Aid Certificate
- Low Voltage Rescue and CPR Certificate
- 3+ years on-site experience
- Experience working with chilled water
- Understanding of BMS and Mech Elec systems
- Commercial HVAC experience
