About the Role:
This role provides strategic and operational leadership to support the effective delivery of guidance services to schools and students. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with Senior Guidance Officers, school leaders, regional teams and key stakeholders to strengthen workforce capability, coordinate regional priorities and support responsive and effective service delivery.
Working in a complex and evolving environment, the Manager will use sound judgement, data and strong stakeholder relationships to support continuous improvement and contribute to the implementation of regional and departmental priorities.
As Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership of the guidance portfolio across South East Region. You will lead and manage a highly experienced Senior Guidance Officer workforce that supports the delivery of guidance services to schools across the region.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead and manage the Senior Guidance Officer workforce, setting clear priorities, supporting workforce capability and promoting accountability aligned with regional and departmental priorities.
Provide high-level advice to senior regional leaders on matters relating to guidance services, student support and emerging issues, applying sound judgement within relevant policy and procedural frameworks.
Coordinate regional priorities, workforce planning and service delivery across the guidance portfolio, including the effective allocation and use of available resources.
Support Senior Guidance Officers in the effective delivery of their roles and responsibilities, providing management direction and supporting a capable, responsive and professional workforce.
Build and maintain productive relationships with Senior Guidance Officers, school leaders, regional teams and other key stakeholders to support coordinated services and outcomes for schools and students.
Analyse and use data and other information to identify emerging issues, monitor service delivery, inform regional planning and support evidence-informed decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement across the regional guidance portfolio, strengthening communication, coordination, governance and ways of working to respond to changing regional and departmental priorities.
It would be highly desirable to have the following knowledge and experience:
School environments and student support services;
Leading and managing a senior professional workforce; and
Working with professionals who provide clinical and professional supervision.
