We specialise in producing organic vegetables in modern greenhouse facilities, ensuring year-round production regardless of weather conditions. Due to ongoing business growth, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Irrigation Assistant to support our farm operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
(Aligned to Irrigation Assistant / Farm Irrigation Worker duties)
The successful applicant will:
- Assist in installing, operating and maintaining farm irrigation systems
- Monitor irrigation schedules and ensure adequate water supply to crops
- Inspect irrigation equipment including pumps, valves, filters and pipelines
- Assist in troubleshooting irrigation system faults and repairs
- Monitor soil moisture levels and greenhouse environmental conditions
- Support fertiliser and nutrient delivery through irrigation systems (fertigation)
- Maintain irrigation records and report issues to management
- Assist with general farm duties including planting, harvesting and crop maintenance
- Ensure compliance with workplace health & safety and biosecurity procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate II/III in Agriculture, Irrigation or related field OR at least 1–2 years relevant farm experience
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and farm equipment
- Ability to work outdoors and in greenhouse environments
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience with drip irrigation and greenhouse irrigation systems
- Experience with pumps, filters and fertigation systems
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance
- Previous experience in vegetable farming
