The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and skilled Emergency After Hours Veterinarian to join our foundation team.
In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our after-hours care, managing incoming emergencies and ensuring the highest standard of continuous medical attention. This position offers excellent clinical autonomy, backed by top-tier equipment and a dedicated after-hours nursing support team.
Key Responsibilities
- After-Hours Consultations: Conduct thorough, compassionate consultations for urgent and emergency cases presenting outside of regular business hours.
- Monitoring Inpatients: Oversee the continuous monitoring, treatment, and critical care of hospitalized patients, ensuring their stability and comfort.
- Overseeing Protocols: Maintain and uphold strict medical, surgical, and safety protocols to ensure top-tier clinical standards are met throughout the night.
- Emergency Intervention: Provide high-quality emergency triage, medical management, and necessary surgical interventions.
- Clinical Collaboration: Utilize advanced, brand-new diagnostic equipment (Brand new CT machine, digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab) and collaborate seamlessly with the daytime team for smooth morning handovers.
What We Are Looking For
- A BVSc (or equivalent) registrable with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
- Confidence in emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and independent clinical decision-making.
- A calm, decisive demeanour under pressure and a genuine passion for emergency/critical care.
- Strong communication skills and a team-player mentality.
- Prior experience in emergency or after-hours roles is highly regarded, but competent clinicians looking to transition to this schedule are welcome to apply.
