Wilmar Ingredients are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Sales & Marketing team on a permanent full-time basis. This role can be based from either our Yarraville (VIC) or Macquarie Park (NSW) office, with flexibility to travel when required and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across both locations.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Wilmar Ingredients, this role is responsible for managing our sweetener and functional ingredients portfolio, building strong supplier relationships and driving growth through product portfolio management, business development and sales support.
You'll work closely with our sales, planning, supply chain and customer service teams, while partnering with suppliers to support product availability, identify growth opportunities and bring new ingredients to market. This role suits someone who enjoys combining commercial acumen, market knowledge and strong relationship management to drive portfolio growth and deliver value for customers.
The things you'll be involved in:
- Managing and growing our sweetener and functional ingredients product portfolio
- Building and managing strong supplier and manufacturer partnerships, including commercial negotiations and contract arrangements
- Identifying new product, market and customer opportunities that support growth
- Working closely with sales to support customer projects, product innovation and new business development
- Developing pricing recommendations and managing product margins to support business performance
- Monitoring sales performance, forecasts, inventory and profitability to support business planning and continuity of supply
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and inform commercial strategy
- Providing technical product knowledge and supporting product quality, application and customer requirements
- Supporting new product launches and helping bring innovative ingredient solutions to market
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, relationship focused and passionate about business growth, and customer focused. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Business, Marketing or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the Australian food and beverage industry in a B2B environment
- Experience managing ingredient or product portfolios from supplier through to B2B customers
- Strong commercial capability with experience managing pricing, margins and profitability
- Experience in NPD, market research and supporting successful product launches
- Strong understanding of ingredient markets and customer needs within food manufacturing
- Experience building and maintaining supplier and customer relationships
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
- Experience using SAP, CRM systems and reporting tools will be highly regarded
- Experience with sweeteners, functional ingredients or non-sugar alternatives will be highly regarded
