Salary: AUD $77,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. The salary will be determined at the time of appointment within this range.
Position Summary
Lil Kitch is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to oversee the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, cook, and present a variety of high-quality dishes.
- Develop and update menus in consultation with management.
- Prepare, season, and cook food in accordance with recipes and customer requirements.
- Monitor the quality of food throughout preparation and presentation.
- Estimate food requirements and control food costs.
- Order, receive, inspect, and manage kitchen inventory and supplies.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise food wastage.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
- Coordinate food preparation during busy service periods to ensure timely service.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and arrange maintenance or repairs where required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Work collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Perform other duties consistent with the position of Chef as directed by management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 years of relevant full-time experience as a Chef (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and Australian food safety standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
Employment Conditions
- Hours: 38 hours per week (full-time).
- Salary: AUD $77,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on qualifications, experience, and performance.
- Annual leave, personal leave, and other entitlements will be provided in accordance with the applicable Australian workplace laws and the employee's employment contract.
Pay: From $39.00 per hour
