Team Member – Mowing, Gardening & Landscaping
Gondwana Gardens and Lawns Pty Ltd is an established property maintenance business providing premium services to residential and commercial clients across Lismore and the Northern Rivers. We are seeking a motivated, reliable Team Member to join our operational field crew across maintenance runs and landscape projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Landscaping & Installation: Assist with structural and soft landscaping projects, including turf laying, soil preparation, retaining walls, paving, and installing garden edging.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate commercial mowing equipment, including zero-turn, ride-on, and push mowers.
- Property Maintenance: Execute general gardening tasks including precision hedging, pruning, systematic weeding, planting, mulching, and comprehensive site clean-ups.
- Tool Care & Safety: Operate and conduct basic daily maintenance on small engines (trimmers, edgers, blowers, chainsaws) while strictly adhering to Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and utilizing appropriate PPE.
- Quality Control: Complete all scheduled runs and project milestones to company standards, ensuring efficiency metrics and client expectations are met consistently.
- Logistics Support: Assist with the safe loading, unloading, and securing of machinery, green waste, and landscaping materials. Maintain organized company vehicles.
Essential Criteria (Must-Haves)
- Licence: Current, valid Manual Driver’s Licence (essential for vehicle operation).
- Machinery & Tool Experience: Proven, hands-on experience operating commercial zero-turn mowers, small petrol engines, and landscape hand tools.
- Physical Capability High level of physical fitness, strength, and stamina to manage demanding outdoor labor and heavy lifting in regional climatic conditions.
- Professional Attributes Strong work ethic, punctual attendance, autonomous problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow operational instructions precisely.
Desirable Criteria (Highly Regarded)
- Prior experience in landscape construction, hardscaping, or structural garden installs.
- Proven experience safely towing and reversing equipment trailers.
- Formal qualifications in horticulture or landscaping, chemical application accreditation (ChemCert), or a Chainsaw Ticket.
- Current First Aid certification.
Remuneration & Benefits
