About the business and the role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our team at The Zimmermann OZ Pty Ltd. working across the Brisbane and Gold Coast area. This full-time role offers the opportunity to contribute your carpentry expertise to a variety of exciting residential projects, with a strong focus on high-energy-efficient and healthy homes.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Carrying out a wide range of carpentry tasks including framing, roofing, and the installation of doors, windows, and cabinetry
- Working on high-performance and energy-efficient home builds
- Reading and interpreting plans, engineering and specifications to ensure work is completed to the required standard
- Collaborating with the project manager and other tradespeople to ensure efficient and timely delivery of projects
- Maintaining tools and equipment to a high standard
- Following all site safety procedures and contributing to a clean, organized work environment
Skills and experience
- Completed trade qualification in Carpentry
- Certificate III or IV in Carpentry required
- Minimum 3 years' experience residential experience
- Strong problem-solving and attention to details
- Confident in reading drawings and specifications
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team
- Commitment to quality and safe work practices
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
Highly regarded:
- Interest in building physics, Passive house principles, or high-energy-efficiency construction
- Experience with European building methods or high-performance construction standards (e.g., Passive house, airtightness, building physics)
