We are currently seeking a Kitchen Hand (Casual) to join our back-of-house team.
Position: Casual Kitchen Hand
Location: Kingsford, NSW
Availability: Minimum 20+ hours per week
About the Role
As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play an important role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. From preparing ingredients to keeping the kitchen clean and organized, your work will help deliver the high-quality dining experience Niji is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation (washing, cutting, portioning)
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and utensils
- Wash dishes and manage cleaning schedules
- Organize and store food supplies correctly
- Follow hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety procedures
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
About You
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential (training provided)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a positive attitude
