Details: Digital Canberra is seeking an experienced and strategic technical leader to fill the role of Senior Director, Infrastructure Refresh within the Strategic IT Asset Management team.
This role provides whole-of-program technical leadership across ICT infrastructure, including server, storage, hosting, network and unified communications platforms. The position plays a critical role in ensuring infrastructure solutions are well-designed, scalable and aligned with operational and delivery requirements across ACT Government.
Acting as the lead technical authority for infrastructure design decisions, you will work across architecture, delivery teams and BAU operations to validate solution designs, support technology selection, and manage technical risks and dependencies across a complex portfolio of refresh activities.
You will provide independent, risk-aware technical advice, support market testing and procurement processes, and ensure consistency and quality across multiple infrastructure deployments. The role also contributes to capability uplift initiatives, aligning infrastructure with asset lifecycle management, service mapping and broader platform integration.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong engagement with technical SMEs, delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure outcomes are practical, sustainable and aligned to strategic objectives.

Eligibility/Other requirements: The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and possess or acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance at the Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) level as an eligibility qualification. If AGSVA screening is not successful, your employment will not commence or, if already commenced, your employment will be reassessed.
Notes: Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
