Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Team Leader to join our team.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Team Leader to join our team.
This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting the day-to-day operation of our Food & Beverage outlets, including Room Service, La Boca Restaurant and Conference & Events, while ensuring high standards of service, guest satisfaction, team performance and operational efficiency.
Working closely with the Food & Beverage management team, you will coordinate daily operations, guide and support team members, maintain service standards and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, train and support Food & Beverage team members during daily operations, including the induction and development of new team members.
Assist the Food & Beverage management team with the day-to-day operation of the department.
Allocate duties and coordinate team members during shifts to ensure efficient service delivery.
Brief team members on daily operations, functions, promotions, service requirements and other relevant information.
Provide hands-on Food & Beverage service across hotel outlets as operationally required.
Ensure outlets are appropriately prepared and set up prior to service and maintained to hotel standards throughout the shift.
Ensure guests are welcomed and served promptly, professionally and courteously, and assist with resolving guest concerns as required.
Maintain strong knowledge of menus, beverages, promotions and hotel services to provide recommendations to guests.
Promote upselling and cross-selling opportunities to support Food & Beverage revenue objectives.
Monitor service standards and identify opportunities to improve service delivery and the guest experience.
Assist with stock control, replenishment and maintaining appropriate stock levels within the outlets.
Ensure correct procedures are followed for billing, cash handling and point-of-sale transactions.
Ensure hotel policies and procedures, food safety, hygiene, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and workplace health and safety requirements are consistently followed.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be an energetic and service-focused hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the floor and supporting a team in a fast-paced environment.
You will also possess:
Previous Food & Beverage experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar or similar hospitality environment.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within Food & Beverage is highly regarded.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate and support team members.
A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Sound food and beverage knowledge, with bar experience highly regarded.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive attitude with the ability to think on your feet and respond effectively to operational and guest service issues.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Confidence in upselling and promoting Food & Beverage products.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience using a point-of-sale system such as Micros would be advantageous.
Immaculate personal presentation.
Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
A qualification in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, Tourism or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practises with a Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) Certificate considered advantageous.
A current NSW Recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate (essential).
