This is a rewarding role supporting the coordination and delivery of clinical placements for medical and nursing students across the Gold Coast. Working closely with universities, general practices, and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to developing the future primary care workforce.
This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday. It is offered as a fixed-term maternity leave cover contract until 18 March 2027.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role places you at the centre of a valued program that connects universities, students and general practices to support meaningful clinical placement experiences. You will help coordinate the planning, scheduling, reporting and day-to-day administration of medical and nursing student placements across the Gold Coast. Your organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills will support smooth program delivery, positive experiences for students and practices, and the growth of the future primary care workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate medical and nursing student placements across partner universities and general practices.
- Support general practices to host and supervise students by providing information, resources and ongoing support.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with universities, clinicians, students and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain program documentation, procedures, databases and placement records to support consistent, compliant and auditable program delivery.
- Track placement activity, milestones and deliverables, ensuring information is accurate, current and available for reporting and planning purposes.
- Prepare reports, briefing materials, correspondence and communications to support program governance, planning and decision-making.
- Support compliance with relevant guidelines, accreditation requirements, privacy obligations and clinical governance expectations.
- Identify administrative efficiencies, risks and service improvements, and support agreed actions to strengthen program delivery.
SELECTION CRITERIA – ESSENTIAL

Ability to deliver a high level of customer service within a multi-disciplinary team environment supporting project and operational deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines, accompanied by an ability to handle several tasks concurrently with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal including the ability to interact effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team environment.
- Sound knowledge and experience of administrative practices, procedures and processes.
- High level knowledge and proficient in the use of information systems, database management and software applications i.e. Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive), Adobe and/or similar.
- Current drivers licence and your own reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
SELECTION CRITERIA – HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in project administration, health, education or a related discipline.
- Understanding of general practice, primary care or clinical training environments.
- Experience supporting student placement, workforce development or education programs within the health sector.
WE OFFER

Remuneration package: $62,446 to $69,794 pro rata (30 hours), plus superannuation.
- Salary packaging benefits (up to $15,900 p.a. + $2,650 p.a. for meals/entertainment).
