Job Summary
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role supports preventative maintenance programs and responds to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and services
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Maintain and repair facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.)
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Assist in installation of new equipment and upgrades
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Education & Experience
- Certificate III/IV in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of relevant maintenance experience (industry-dependent)
- Trade certification (electrician, fitter, or similar) is highly desirable
Working Conditions
- Monday to Friday day shift, some Saturdays if required
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying environmental conditions
Pay: $57,910.76 – $126,182.37 per year
