Primary objective
Provide accurate and up to date reconciliation and administration of bank accounts and appropriate internal control over
money, by collecting, receipting, investigating anomalies, safeguarding and ensuring the timely deposit of public money into
an official bank account. In addition, provide comprehensive revenue support to ensure accurate financial classification of
patients and raise invoices for services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver a continuously high standard of customer service to meet the needs of all internal and external clients.
2. Receiving, receipting and banking of monies, issuing of petty cash, and payment of reimbursement claims.
3. Administration of cheque and cash advances held by NT Health.
4. Reconciliations of NT Government bank accounts, investigate / following up of outstanding items and ensure that
outstanding transactions are dealt with promptly.
5. Monthly reporting on all NTG accounts detailing outstanding amounts and attach documents demonstrating action taken
to clear outstanding values
6. Ability to multi-skill to undertake the requirements of the RTM and Revenue officer roles as required
7. Ensure accounts are raised and contain relevant information required for the processing of the account.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Advanced reconciliation experience dealing with multiple accounts in a large organisation; cash handling experience with
demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Demonstrated experience providing quality front line customer service and the ability to successfully negotiate when
dealing in difficult situations.
3. Demonstrated good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures.
4. High level of organisational skills, the ability to set priorities, complete tasks and meet deadlines with minimal
supervision, maintain confidentiality in the workplace and ability to operate as an effective team member.
5. Demonstrated ability to accurately process large volumes of invoicing using an Enterprise billing system or similar
6. Experience utilising a system management software, sound computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
7. Ability to understand and follow legislation, regulations and administrative procedures.
Desirable
1. Experience in the operations of the Government Accounting System (GAS) and Receipt Processing System (REPS).
