Freddie's Ascot is a thriving neighbourhood café that has proudly served the Ascot and surrounding community since 2021. We are committed to delivering high-quality food, excellent customer service, and a welcoming dining experience. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all kitchen operations to ensure efficient, high-quality food service delivery.
- Design, plan, and implement seasonal menus and daily specials in line with business requirements and customer expectations.
- Supervise the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes to ensure consistent quality and portion standards.
- Manage food procurement, supplier relationships, stock rotation, and inventory control systems.
- Monitor food costs, manage kitchen budgets, and implement strategies to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
- Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including rostering, performance management, and workflow coordination.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant commercial kitchen environment at all times.
- Collaborate with management to develop menu concepts, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction and business performance.
Essential Requirements
- A qualification in a relevant field (Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, or equivalent) is compulsory.
- Previous relevant experience as a Head Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen leadership role is compulsory.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and commercial kitchen operations.
